- Viral infection that attacks liver
- By blood or body fluids
- Jaundice, dark urine, extreme fatigue, nausea, vomit, abdominal pain
- Usually develop into chronic illness

DPT/DT

3, 4, 5 months

Diphtheria
- Bacterial infection that affects membranes of nose and throat
- Sore throat, fever, swollen glands, weakness, thick gray coating on airway
- Damage heart, kidney, nervous system. Incubation: 2-5 days

DPT/DT Booster
18-mth

Pertussis
(Whooping cough)
- Respiratory disease
- By bacterium Bordetella pertussis
- Incubation: 5-10 days


DT Booster
6-7 years
11-12 years


Tetanus
- Bacterial disease that affects nervous system, leading to painful muscle contractions, jaw and neck muscles
- Commonly found in soil, dust and manure, rusty nails
- Incubation: 8 days to several months

Oral Sabin

Poliomyelitis
- By poliovirus, infected feces entering the mouth via food and water
- Weaken muscles
- No cure. Incubation: 6-20 days

- By fecal-oral route
- Incubation: 2 days

Prevaner 13

- Lead to meningitis

- Airborne bacteria

Chickenpox

Varicella-zoster virus (VZV)
- Thru air, cough, sneeze, mucus, saliva, fluid from blisters
- Itchy rash and flu-like symptoms
- Starts with high fever, headache, sore throat, stomachache
- Can involve lungs, bones, joints, brain
- At risk of shingles later in life

MMR

Measles virus
- High fever, runny nose, cough, red eyes, sore throat, white spots in mouth
- Then rash on body
- Thru air, cough and sneeze, saliva
- Incubation: 10-12 days
- Worse: Diarrhea, blind, brain, pneumonia


Mumps virus
- Viral disease via respiratory droplets
- Fever, muscle pain, headache, tired
- Painful swelling of parotid glands
- Incubation: 16-18 days
- Worse: Brain, deaf, pancreatitis, painful testicular/ovarian swelling


Rubella virus
- Incubation: 2 weeks
- Rash on face then body
- Swollen lymph nodes
- Fever, sore throat, fatigue, joint pain
- Worse: bleeding, testicular swelling, inflammation of nerves
- Thru air, cough
